VKWC Germany – The Womens Qualifiers Full Story

VKWC Germany – The Womens Qualifiers Full Story

We have all the run down on the action from the #VKWC in Germany where we have been witnessing the qualifiers for the main event with the girls performing against tough conditions.

The VKWC here is Germany is now in full effect with the last few days spent getting through the qualifiers which will see 4 girls go through to the main event for the rest of the season. Of course with so much at stake the pressure is on.

The conditions have been really tough with high gusty wind up to 30 knots and very choppy conditions making it extremely difficult to pull off the regular tricks these girls have under their belt.

Rita Arnaus has powered her way through the rounds so far and is up against her best friend Therese Taabbel in the last round for a garnered place, Therese also having performed very well throughout.

Francesca Bagnoli also stood out to us as a rider to watch for the competition as she consistently nailed her passes even when called to re-run her heat due to a missed trick from the judges.

Advancing through to the last roads are also Vieira, Fourre, Lange, Oja, Schader, Bernnat, Brochoka and Galiart who also stands out as putting on consistent strong heats.

We also would like to give some huge appreciation to the girls for whom this has been their first event as it is a real baptism of fire to be thrown into these conditions and having to rise to the occasion, notably the young Saumo Cavallo from the Dominican Republic.

We also would like to give some shouts to the German girls who we must apologise but we do not all know personally, …but they gave it their all, and when it went wrong it went wrong with epic proportions.

Finally the day ended on a not so fun note with Helena Brochocka ending up with her kite wrapped around the pier and her in an extremely dangerous position below the pier hanging onto the wooden supports. As everyone rushed to her aid we have to give a huge respectful thank you to the rescue crews on the jet-skis who managed to get in their to support her against the difficult conditions until the rescue could be completed.

Luckily for all apart from being a bit battered and bruised is absolutely fine and we will do her the earned respect of finishing with a photo of her in action, not in danger.

Now we go back to the event for the finals of the qualifiers and then we will be getting onto the main event straight away so stay tuned for more action and check out all the photos on Facebook.
