Slingshot have just dropped their 2017 line of boots and they are very very tasty indeed. As well as being visually stunning they have something new in the world of boots, Gummy straps.
What are gummy straps, well it would seem they are the death of laces and velcro in the boot world. This as kiters should be good news as we like a tight fit and we often have to get into the boots whilst managing the kite.
Apparently they are pretty strong!
Of course we will start with the female specific boot, the Jewel.
This female-specific boot is designed with the same two-zone closure system as the RAD boot but is scaled-down for a lower-profile fit. Featuring a two-zone closure system with a synch-tight interior and one upper strap, the Jewel provides the perfect balance between high comfort and high performance.

We think it is a great looking boot as was very popular amongst riders last year, although previously slightly heavier than the Ronix boots we introduced you to last week, the addition of a new mounting system reduces some of the weight and creates a smaller footprint on the board allowing you to use more of your boards flex.

So all in all a great option for girls looking to have a female specific boot for freestyle kiting and then hitting the cable park.
Of course as with the Ronix boots, a lot of female riders are very happy riding the boys boots, so here they are.
Originally marketed as the kite specific boot, this is the only boot that has both the traditional lace system AND the new gummy straps.
2017 Slingshot RAD
A staple part of the Slingshot range for a number of years, the Shredtown is a straps only boot which has an inner boot, meaning you get to keep your feet protected as you walk around, very useful if you kite near rocky beaches.

Slightly more flexible, and in our opinion the looker of the range, the KTV is certainly a stand out boot.
