The 313 is a heelside railey with a frontside 360 handle-pass. It’s one of my favourite tricks, even more since last year because I learned how to do the 315!!

So to help you in the direction of achieving this trick here is a 7 step guide for you.

1. Start going downwind with speed

Start going downwind with speed and unhook right before edging.

2. Edge into the wind and tense your body to maintain control of it.

This will give you the slack you need in the lines and the power to bring your body up into the air. Don’t forget to keep the arms close to your body!

3. Pop out of the water and throw your legs behind you

Basically once in the air, I do a shifty instead of a railey because it helps to pass the bar later. The shifty consists of extending your back leg and keeping the front leg a little bent.

I also push the bar to the left (if you pass the bar from the right hand to the left) or push it to the right (for passes from the left hand to the right*), looking over my right* arm, to make the shifty-move easier and to already spot the landing place.

4. Start the rotation

Start the rotation with a kick in front with the straight leg while pushing the bar down to your right hip and turning your head to look over your left shoulder.

5. Let go of your front hand and pass the bar

Now is the moment to let go of your front hand and pass the bar! Keep rotating your body and grab the bar!

6. Spot your landing

Spot your landing and hold the bar close to your body.

7. Bend your knees

Bend your knees to absorb the impact!
