1. It won't burn your inner thighs

How many of you come out of the water complaining about the burns that the seat harness gives you?

You can tell us that it never happens to you or you don’t know what we are talking about but if you ride in strong winds or more importantly without a wetsuit then you will know exactly what we mean

2. You will have a better position/posture

The main problem of a seat harness is the position that you get… as the name suggest “seat harness”, you get the seat position which means bum out or if you prefer “the shit position”.

It is not the case for everyone who rides with a seat harness but if you start learning with a seat harness make sure that you don’t fall into that bad habit.

3. It’s a better workout for your abs

Due to the position and because of the angle of the pull you will work your abs better. As you sit in your seat harness you don’t use the power of your abs to keep your straight position on your board and you don’t engage your stomach muscles as you would do with a waist harness.

4. It’s cooler

Do we need to say something about this?! Being cool isn’t everything, …but being seriously uncool if avoided should be.

Try and find a photo in a magazine of someone in a seat harness.

5. You will be able to try unhooked tricks and be more efficient in the waves

As your hook is usually lower with a seat harness it is as easy to unhooked and it is not so comfortable for the turns in surf as it doesn’t slide on your waist.

Of course if you have enough talent to do some cool unhooked tricks or surf waves properly we are sure you will still be able to do it with a seat harness just as well… but regarding the comfort and body position we advise you to switch for a waist harness.
